1911; Elgin City Banking Co. - Elgin, IL

Antique framed promotional bank calendar.

This piece advertises the Elgin Banking Co. First National Bank branch. It features a piece by Henry John Dobson (1858-1928) titled "The New Arrival", whoch was part of a series of paintings detailing the life of a new family. This particular piece was a common addition to promotional items in the early 20th century, especially calendars. It appears to have been framed as a Christmas gift in 1981 from adult children to their mother as evidenced by the written message on the back.

Housed in an oak frame.

Exhibits minor signs of wear including errant tears from where the print was separated from the calendar.
