This red and yellow advertising umbrella was produced by the C. F. Clothing Co, likely in the early half of the 20th century. This clothing company originated as a small family business in 1881 in Rockford, IL. Specializing in attire for men and boys, it eventually achieved the status of a prominent local business.
The umbrella has a diameter of 53" and currently stands 42" H. Considering the relatively short length of the pole as well as the knob at the tip of the pole, it's likely the umbrella was originally attached to a stand of some sort -- e.g., a street corner display stand.
