The barrel sits between the uprights of a matching wooden stand, with a side crank and turned wooden grip. Its contrasting colors and exposed mechanism make it a lively example of early dairy equipment.

Dobson made the Favorite barrel churn in Rockford, Illinois. Its end-over-end rotation agitated the cream inside, a design also represented in The Henry Ford's collection.

The painted wood has widespread wear, chips, scratches, and dark staining. Splits and seams are visible in the barrel boards and end panel, and the metal fittings show oxidation. The existing listing reports that the barrel rotates easily.

25" W × 24" D × 30.5" H

MM - 13904 - 072825
MM - 100126

This piece will need to ship via freight.
