Applied ornament includes scrolled acanthus mounts at the top corners, a shell and laurel-leaf motif centered on each apron, and cartouche and drop mounts down the corners. Louis XV furniture (1715-1774) was widely revived from the 1890s into the 1920s, when vitrines like this one were made to show off collectibles. One side is a hinged glass door with a locking latch. Inside are a single glass shelf on metal brackets and a felt-lined base, with a rope trim around the glass.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThe case is in good overall condition. It appears to have been repainted, with some areas of paint loss, and it rocks slightly because the feet are uneven. Three of the four feet have lost material to damage. The decorative additions are in good shape with small losses. The exterior glass is wavy, and the interior shelf glass has light scratches where it rests on the metal brackets.
