Antique pine crate manufactured for D.M. Ferry & Co., Detroit, MI. Ferry & Co. later went on to become the more well-known Ferry-Morse Seed Company. This piece it notable not only for the Ferry association, but for the license as well. The United States Food Administration, while being the only federal agency in charge of food regulation at the time, was only active for three years from 1917-1920 before dissolving and rebranding as the United States Grain Corporation.

This item appears to be in good condition; the exterior exhibits wear appropriate for an item of its age, while the majority of the interior embellishments are intact.

Shipping costs for smaller items being shipped within the continental United States are free up to $100. If a parcel shipment exceeds $100, the remaining costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. FREIGHT SHIPPING

We work with a number of freight carriers and private drivers, and are happy to assist buyers in finding suitable shipping arrangements for large items. Please reach out to us for quotes and more information about your shipping options. 

Please note that buyers are responsible for the shipping costs of all items that are too large to ship parcel. Moreover, all shipments are considered FOB (Free on Board), meaning the responsibility for the shipment passes to the buyer the moment the shipment leaves our dock. Any risk of loss or damage after this point is assumed solely by the buyer. In the event of damage or loss, we are happy to assist buyers in the claims process if we helped coordinate the shipment. However, we are not responsible for any damages, loss, or deductibles.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

All shipments going outside of the continental United States will require consultation prior to shipping. Items will be crated and shipped by boat or by air at the buyer's expense. Please contact us regarding any questions you may have.
