Industrial Artifacts ships small goods and freight worldwide from our offices in DeKalb, IL just outside Chicago. We work with a number of freight carriers to ensure that your shipment arrives safe and sound. All shipments are insured for full value. Freight orders can be expected to ship between 3-6 weeks of purchase.
All non-freight items are shipped through UPS Ground using their packaging standards.
International returns will not be accepted.
Our freight process starts by sourcing sturdy wooden pallets from our local manufacturer. The item is then cleaned and inspected before being palletized by our logistics team. A final inspection is given and the item is booked through our broker. You can expect full communication at each step of the process.
All freight items, when purchased at list price, are shipped to a terminal near your location. Freight shipments will ship for free up to $500 to a terminal near your home or business. If freight costs exceed $500, buyers will be responsible for the remaining balance.
Most people within a major city live no more than 15 miles from a terminal. The terminal address will be confirmed with your approval prior to shipping. Once the item arrives in your town, you'll receive a call to come and pick the item up from our carrier. Typically, all you'll need is a photo ID.
Curbside delivery is available and is typically $225. An appointment will be set up between yourself and the carrier to ensure that you will be home - much like ordering a new refrigerator or other large appliance today. The item will be dropped off with the pallet at your driveway using a lift-gate for easy unloading. You'll be responsible for moving the item inside.
In-home delivery is offered on a case-by-case basis. Industrial Artifacts can contract a moving company local to you to assist with in-home delivery at your cost.
All shipments going outside of the continental United States will require consultation prior to shipping. Items will be crated and shipped by boat or by air at the buyers expense. Please contact us regarding any questions you may have.
Any items with excess length (>8') will require special care and may not be eligible for curbside service as carriers will not deliver goods they cannot fit on a standard lift gate. Please contact us if you have any questions.
