c. 1950s, Holthaus Lackner Signs, Cincinatti, OH.

Vintage cast aluminum neon sign plate for Duquesne Pilsener of Pittsburgh, PA. Duquesne began operations in 1899 and closed 70 years later in 1972. It was a major brewery at its peak and was recognizable for the "Prince of Pilsener" logo. Local vernacular refers to this particular beer as a "Duke", a term that now has far reaches. It was revived in 2010 as "Duquesne Brewing Company" and still features the Prince on its branding.

This piece is a non-working neon sign base with the orignal stand-offs. It features the figural outline of the Prince in addition to all the original lettering. This piece is being sold as is and should not be expected to be in working order.
