While no longer complete, the surviving housing retains its striking folk-industrial character and functions today as an exceptional piece of agricultural advertising and rural Americana.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nFounded in Plymouth, Wisconsin, Albrecht, Fuchs \u0026amp; Thurmann manufactured agricultural equipment during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, producing feed cutters and other farm machinery for the growing Midwestern agricultural market. Their boldly painted equipment reflected both practical utility and the era's emphasis on recognizable manufacturer branding.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nDisplays heavy age-related wear consistent with long-term farm use and storage, including scratches, paint loss, fading, surface grime, splits, cracks, edge wear, and scattered losses to the wood. The projecting wooden extension remains intact, though its original function is unknown and may relate to the feed cutter's original mounting or operation. Portions of the wooden trim along the curved arch are missing and have been replaced with sections of sheet metal. An additional angled sheet metal piece is mounted to the interior near the bottom, likely added as a period reinforcement or repair. Oxidation is present to the remaining iron hardware.
