c. 1900s/1910s; Skandia Furniture Company - Rockford, IL

Carved solid oak secretary desk with a cylinder roll top.

This piece features a roll-top that opens to reveal a multitude of storage cubbies and drawers and a pull-out writing surface. Below this is a large, central drawer that spans the width of the desk. Below this there are two deep drawers of uniform size with matching hardware and locking mechanisms. Next to these is a small cabinet that appears to have had similar hardware that has unfortunately been lost to time.
The desk was manufactured by Skandia, a furniture manufacturer that once occupied a two-block brick complex along what is now 23rd Ave in Rockford.

Exhibits minor signs of wear including scuffs and scratches throughout, in addition to the aforementioned missing hardware.

Shipping costs for smaller items being shipped within the continental United States are free up to $100. If a parcel shipment exceeds $100, the remaining costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. FREIGHT SHIPPING

We work with a number of freight carriers and private drivers, and are happy to assist buyers in finding suitable shipping arrangements for large items. Please reach out to us for quotes and more information about your shipping options. 

Please note that buyers are responsible for the shipping costs of all items that are too large to ship parcel. Moreover, all shipments are considered FOB (Free on Board), meaning the responsibility for the shipment passes to the buyer the moment the shipment leaves our dock. Any risk of loss or damage after this point is assumed solely by the buyer. In the event of damage or loss, we are happy to assist buyers in the claims process if we helped coordinate the shipment. However, we are not responsible for any damages, loss, or deductibles.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

All shipments going outside of the continental United States will require consultation prior to shipping. Items will be crated and shipped by boat or by air at the buyer's expense. Please contact us regarding any questions you may have.
