RAF Upper Heyford NCO Club Commemorative Table Lighter by Dragon Manufacturing

Heavy cast metal table lighter produced for the Non-Commissioned Officers' Club at RAF Upper Heyford, England. The cylindrical body features raised lettering reading "NCO CLUB / RAF UPPER HEYFORD / ENGLAND", bordered by decorative scrollwork bands. The reverse displays the official crest of the 66th Tactical Reconnaissance Wing, including the banner reading "66th TAC. RECON. WING," identifying the specific U.S. Air Force unit stationed at Upper Heyford during the Cold War period. A chrome-finished lighter mechanism is mounted at the top, integrated into the substantial cast form.
Dragon Manufacturing Co. specialized in military and organizational souvenir lighters during the mid-20th century, producing high-quality cast examples for U.S. and allied bases worldwide. Pieces like this were sold through base clubs and exchanges, intended as durable keepsakes for enlisted personnel. The clear unit identification and solid construction give this example strong historical specificity tied directly to RAF Upper Heyford's role as a major USAF reconnaissance base.
Shows surface wear and patination consistent with age, including oxidation, rubbing to raised lettering and crest details, and wear to the plated base. Lighter mechanism is present but untested and may require a new flint. Sold as-is without fuel.

We ship smaller objects with UPS and USPS. All shipments are fully insured and adhere to carrier packing guidelines. Shipping costs for smaller items being shipped within the continental United States are free up to $100. If a parcel shipment exceeds $100, the remaining costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. FREIGHT SHIPPING
Free freight shipping is available for most large items. Conditions and restrictions apply: Free delivery is only offered on orders in the continental US. Shipping for freight items is free up to $500. If freight shipping costs exceed $500, the buyer is responsible for covering any amount over $500. Free freight delivery services include: delivery to a freight terminal, curbside delivery, and door-to-door delivery with a private carrier. White glove delivery services are *not included* in our free freight shipping policy, but may be available for a fee. Buyers may be subject to fees in cases where a delivery location is remote/difficult to access, or where a shipment requires special handling. Please contact us for shipping quotes and available services prior to purchasing.
All shipments are considered FOB (Free on Board), meaning the buyer assumes all responsibility for the shipment the moment it leaves our loading dock. Any risk of loss or damage after this point is assumed solely by the buyer. In the event of damage or loss, we are happy to assist buyers in the claims process if we helped coordinate the shipment. However, we are not responsible for any damages, loss, or deductibles.
Delivery for freight items averages between 2-4 weeks. Longer delivery times are to be expected in cases where a delivery location is remote or when an order contains especially large or fragile items.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
