vintage-gothic-seven-light-adjustable-wrought-iron-floor-candelabrum
Vintage Gothic Seven-Light Adjustable Wrought Iron Floor Candelabrum

Tall ecclesiastical-style floor candelabrum constructed of black-painted iron with seven candle sockets arranged across an expandable scissor-form armature. Each socket is surrounded by a hand-worked foliate bobeche, while applied floral ornaments and pendant leaves decorate the articulated arms. The central standard rises from an open tripod base with arched supports and inward-scrolling details.

Shows substantial age and use-related wear. The piece rocks due to the uneven base, which exhibits significant oxidation. Scattered paint loss and resulting oxidation are present throughout. The height adjustment is frozen with rust, and its original push- or screw-operated action could not be determined. The arm-locking mechanism does not hold the right side securely, while the left side is stiff when moved. One candle holder has a broken rivet and evidence of an unsuccessful previous repair. Additional surface scratches, corrosion, finish loss, and accumulated wax residue are visible.

29.5" L when extended x 58" H
Base: 15.5" L x 15.5" W

MM - C-22506 - 110326

This piece will need to ship via freight.
