c. 1960s-1970s; Windlass Steelcrafts - Uttarakhand, India

Novelty cocktail bar fashioned as a miniature medieval armet helmet with a hinged shell, articulated visors, pierced crest, decorative rivets, and mesh-covered openings. The helmet opens to reveal a red-lined fitted interior designed to hold a ribbed glass decanter and four shot glasses. One shot glass and the decanter remain. A wind-up music-box mechanism is incorporated into the base, with a partially detached "How Dry I am" label underneath. The underside is marked "Japan."

Windlass Steelcrafts was established by Ved Prakash Windlass in 1941 as a small manufacturer of kukris for British Gurkha regiments and later developed into an international producer of historical arms, armor, and related decorative objects.

Shows oxidation around the applied decorations, visor mesh, screws, shot-glass holder, base seam, and other metal components. Dark pigmentation is missing from portions of the helmet crest, with additional scratches, finish wear, and age-related discoloration throughout. The upper visor appears to have been repaired with wire in place of a rivet or screw. Solidified liquid or adhesive residue is present beneath the shot-glass holder. Only one of the original shot glasses remains, and it has a line of rust where it rests in the holder. The decanter cork is very loose, and the lid cannot be separated from the breather cork. The music box winds but does not play. The "How Dry I am" label on the underside is partially peeling. Nothing locks into place; the decanter and shot glass will fall from their individual holders if the helmet is inverted.
