The exterior features crisply modeled facial details, ears, hooves, and a curled tail, together with a folding wire carrying handle that can be raised or lowered. Opening the model reveals a painted anatomical interior with molded skeletal details, including the rib cage, spine, and leg bones. Five inset containers originally held samples associated with the demonstration, while additional removable anatomical components would have completed the interior.

The interior retains legible embossed inscriptions. The half containing the single large jar reads "PATENT PENDING - PROPERTY OF MOORMAN MFG. CO. QUINCY ILL," while the opposite half is embossed "PATENT PENDING."

Moorman Manufacturing Company grew from T. R. Moorman's early hog-health and feed preparations and established operations in Quincy, Illinois, in 1908. The company developed into a nationally recognized producer of livestock feeds and agricultural products, employing portable demonstration pieces such as this model to communicate animal nutrition and anatomy to farmers.

Overall in good condition. The modeled face and tail remain crisp, and the carrying handle moves between upright and lowered positions. The exterior exhibits a scrape on one side, pitting on the other, scattered surface wear, and several small spots of pigment. The wingnut and retaining screw show oxidation. The interior is incomplete, with removable organs and other components no longer present. Of the five inset containers, the large jar has a crack in its glass lid, and the lids of all four smaller jars are compromised; three retain unidentified material. Interior pigments show age-related cracking, discoloration, wear, and scattered losses. The embossed information remains legible on both sides.

15" L x 4.75" W x 10.5" H with handle in up position

MM - 22728 - 102326

For information regarding shipping, please visit our Terms & Conditions page here.
