This ornate wooden case was produced by The Davis Bulletin Co. of Buffalo, NY. We believe that it was originally used to enclose a bulletin board, or perhaps even playbills/posters for plays or movies. The piece has seem some wear over the years: In addition to some paint splattered across its face, some of the raised wooden detailing has loosened or broken off altogether. Please examine the photographs carefully for more detail.

Affixed to the back right side of the piece are two brackets. Being positioned on the same side means that the case can be swung open like a door when hung on a wall. This feature would have allowed for easy swapping of posters/playbills behind the case when it functioned as originally intended.

It measures 48.75" high x 31.25" long x 2.75" deep.
