Vintage Freeman / Five Star Engine Heater Advertising Display
c. 1940s-1950s; Freeman / Five Star Mfg. Co. - East Grand Forks, MN
Painted steel countertop advertising display for the Freeman Headbolt Engine Heater, complete with its original clear glass demonstration jar.
This boldly lithographed piece was produced to market Freeman's innovative engine heating system, which promised "Instant Starts in Cold Weather" for cars, trucks, and tractors. The vibrant yellow and red painted panel features bold graphics of an engine cutaway, a push-switch illustration, and clean industrial typography. The unit's jar would have been used to demonstrate how the heater circulated warmth through engine coolant using an electric rod that would be plugged into an outlet.
Freeman heaters were manufactured by Five Star Manufacturing Co., a Minnesota firm known for cold-weather automotive accessories that found wide use across the Midwest.
Wear, scuffing, and surface oxidation reflect its use. This is a display piece only and does not include any heating product or device. No part of this item has been tested and is being sold as-is. Please refer to photos for condition and details.
