Figural kerosene cigar lighter and smoking stand with horse-head finials.

This ornate Victorian-era smoking accessory combines a functional kerosene lighter with a multi-use cigar stand. Cast in bronze with a dark aged patina, the piece is anchored by a scalloped dish base, rising to a tiered stand fitted with circular openings for cigars or tapers. Above rests a globular reservoir decorated with three finely modeled horse heads, each adorned with spiraled crests. The top features a removable screw cap with woven wick, designed to draw fuel from the central chamber for lighting cigars, pipes, or spills.

Such figural lighters were a centerpiece of 19th-century parlors and gentlemen's clubs, blending artistry with utility at a time when smoking accoutrements carried as much decorative weight as practical use. The equine motif reflects the era's fascination with heraldic and animal forms, lending the piece both sculptural presence and symbolic strength.

The lighter shows surface patination and handling wear consistent with age. Wick assembly remains intact, with old match remnants preserved in the base. Structurally sound and visually striking, this example bridges decorative art with the ritual of smoking culture.
