c. 1890s; Fleischmann & Co. - Cincinnati, Ohio, United States

Antique advertising glass promoting Sylvan Grove Rye, featuring a pastoral outdoor scene with figures gathered beneath a tree, rendered in warm earth tones and greens. The composition is reverse-painted onto glass, with bold typographic elements identifying the product and maker. "Fleischmann & Co., Cincinnati, U.S.A." appears prominently along the lower edge, anchoring the image as a period liquor advertisement intended for bar or saloon display.

The piece is housed in its original, heavily molded wooden frame with deep relief floral and foliate ornamentation. Layers of old finish, wear, and oxidation remain present, giving the frame a darkened, textured surface consistent with prolonged use and age. The contrast between the ornate frame and the softened, time-worn imagery reinforces its late 19th-century commercial character.

Fleischmann & Co. was founded in the mid-19th century and became one of the most influential American producers of yeast and distilled spirits, with Cincinnati serving as a major hub for its early operations and national distribution.

The frame shows heavy wear throughout with losses, rubbing, and surface degradation. The reverse-painted glass exhibits significant deterioration, flaking, and loss when viewed closely, though the central imagery and lettering remain legible. Structurally stable and displays well despite age-related condition.
