Gothic Revival Wrought Iron Hanging Lantern with Red Glass Panels
Forged wrought iron hanging lantern executed in a Gothic Revival style, featuring twisted vertical bars, curled scrollwork, and pierced decorative panels framing deep red textured glass. The lantern's tall, rectangular form is capped and grounded by symmetrical scroll elements, giving it a strong architectural presence well-suited to entryways, porches, or exterior corridors. The red glass panels cast a warm, dramatic glow when illuminated, while the heavy iron construction underscores its original purpose as a durable outdoor or semi-outdoor fixture. Designed with serviceability in mind, the lantern allows access through the bottom for bulb replacement and interior cleaning.
Lanterns of this type were commonly produced in the late 19th and early 20th centuries during the Gothic and Tudor Revival movements, when hand-wrought iron lighting was favored for ecclesiastical buildings, institutional settings, and period-inspired residences. Their robust construction and ornamental ironwork bridged functional exterior lighting with historic architectural aesthetics.
Tested and working. Shows overall paint wear and surface loss consistent with long-term outdoor exposure, but remains structurally sound. Takes a standard medium-base bulb, installed through the bottom by removing two screws and lowering the base. Glass panels can be removed from the interior for cleaning if needed.

PARCEL SHIPPING
We ship smaller objects with UPS and USPS. All shipments are fully insured and adhere to carrier packing guidelines. Shipping costs for smaller items being shipped within the continental United States are free up to $100. If a parcel shipment exceeds $100, the remaining costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. FREIGHT SHIPPING
Free freight shipping is available for most large items. Conditions and restrictions apply: Free delivery is only offered on orders in the continental US. Shipping for freight items is free up to $500. If freight shipping costs exceed $500, the buyer is responsible for covering any amount over $500. Free freight delivery services include: delivery to a freight terminal, curbside delivery, and door-to-door delivery with a private carrier. White glove delivery services are *not included* in our free freight shipping policy, but may be available for a fee. Buyers may be subject to fees in cases where a delivery location is remote/difficult to access, or where a shipment requires special handling. Please contact us for shipping quotes and available services prior to purchasing.
All shipments are considered FOB (Free on Board), meaning the buyer assumes all responsibility for the shipment the moment it leaves our loading dock. Any risk of loss or damage after this point is assumed solely by the buyer. In the event of damage or loss, we are happy to assist buyers in the claims process if we helped coordinate the shipment. However, we are not responsible for any damages, loss, or deductibles.
Delivery for freight items averages between 2-4 weeks. Longer delivery times are to be expected in cases where a delivery location is remote or when an order contains especially large or fragile items.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
All shipments going outside of the continental United States will require consultation prior to shipping. Items will be crated and shipped by boat or by air at the buyer's expense. Please contact us regarding any questions you may have.
