Antique Ladderback Farmhouse Dining Chair with Hand-Woven Rush Seat
Traditional ladderback chair constructed from turned and squared hardwood members, featuring a tall back with four shaped ladder slats and a hand-woven rush seat. The frame shows classic vernacular proportions, with slightly splayed rear legs, turned front posts, and simple stretchers providing rigidity without ornament. The rush seat is tightly woven in a traditional pattern and set within a square seat frame, offering a resilient sitting surface typical of utilitarian household seating. The overall form is restrained and purpose-built, reflecting rural and working-class interiors where durability and ease of repair were prioritized over decorative excess.
Ladderback chairs of this type were produced for generations by regional chairmakers and small shops in both Europe and North America. PARCEL SHIPPING
We ship smaller objects with UPS and USPS. All shipments are fully insured and adhere to carrier packing guidelines. Shipping costs for smaller items being shipped within the continental United States are free up to $100. If a parcel shipment exceeds $100, the remaining costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. FREIGHT SHIPPING
Free freight shipping is available for most large items. Conditions and restrictions apply: Free delivery is only offered on orders in the continental US. Shipping for freight items is free up to $500. If freight shipping costs exceed $500, the buyer is responsible for covering any amount over $500. Free freight delivery services include: delivery to a freight terminal, curbside delivery, and door-to-door delivery with a private carrier. White glove delivery services are *not included* in our free freight shipping policy, but may be available for a fee. Buyers may be subject to fees in cases where a delivery location is remote/difficult to access, or where a shipment requires special handling. Please contact us for shipping quotes and available services prior to purchasing.
All shipments are considered FOB (Free on Board), meaning the buyer assumes all responsibility for the shipment the moment it leaves our loading dock. Any risk of loss or damage after this point is assumed solely by the buyer. In the event of damage or loss, we are happy to assist buyers in the claims process if we helped coordinate the shipment. However, we are not responsible for any damages, loss, or deductibles.
Delivery for freight items averages between 2-4 weeks. Longer delivery times are to be expected in cases where a delivery location is remote or when an order contains especially large or fragile items.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
