Early upholstered textile loveseat with a compact, upright form, tight arms, and straight back, raised on turned wooden legs. Upholstered in a woven floral fabric with repeating botanical motifs in muted reds and greens over a light ground. The seat and back are traditionally constructed and stuffed with horsehair, giving the piece its characteristic firmness and resilience. The proportions and construction point to an early transitional domestic sofa-more structured than later overstuffed forms, yet already moving away from fully exposed frames.

Included with the loveseat is a substantial quantity of matching fabric believed to be an original or early furniture cover, likely intended to protect the upholstery when not in use. The fabric shows similar age, wear, and patterning, reinforcing its association with the sofa. Together, the loveseat and fabric form a rare surviving textile grouping that illustrates early upholstery practices and domestic preservation habits.

Shows major fraying and losses to the upholstery, particularly along seams and edges on the back, with exposed threads and wear consistent with age and use. Wooden legs exhibit surface wear, finish loss, and discoloration near the feet. Fabric cover shows heavy wear, fraying, and edge losses. Structurally intact but clearly a survivor piece.
