Antique rotary payphone manufactured by Automatic Electric Co. (1901-1983), Chicago, IL.

This particular phone was owned by GTE/Ameritech, a Midwest provider for Regional Bell Operating Company (bought out and owned by SBC Communications from 1999-2006 and then AT&T from 2006 onwards.). It served the Royalton (Franklin County, southern Illinois) 618 area for an undisclosed period of time; likely up until the early 1980s when GTE became defunct.

Due to the cords being snipped, this item is being listed as not in working condition, however it includes the keys for the coin vault and maintenance access to upper housing.
