Vintage Hand-Painted Barber Shop "Restroom" Sign
Hand-painted wooden directional sign produced for use in a barber shop or men's grooming establishment, featuring bold block lettering spelling RESTROOM against a warm tan field. The design is framed top and bottom with classic barber-pole striping in red, white, and blue, visually linking the sign to the long-standing barbering tradition. Rounded corners and straightforward plank construction reinforce its utilitarian, in-shop purpose rather than street signage.
Signs of this type were typically mounted inside barber shops to guide customers toward washrooms, blending wayfinding with brand-adjacent visual language. The barber pole motif-rooted in 19th-century trade symbolism-remained a common visual shorthand well into the mid-20th century, even as interiors modernized. The hand-painted execution and restrained palette give the piece a graphic, honest presence that reads immediately as functional shop equipment rather than decorative reproduction.
Wear is present throughout, including surface scuffs, paint loss, and edge wear consistent with prolonged interior use. The paint remains legible and visually strong, with no structural breaks to the board.

PARCEL SHIPPING
We ship smaller objects with UPS and USPS. All shipments are fully insured and adhere to carrier packing guidelines. Shipping costs for smaller items being shipped within the continental United States are free up to $100. If a parcel shipment exceeds $100, the remaining costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. Please reach out to us for a free shipping quote on items you are interested in purchasing and note that international shipments may incur additional shipping cost.
FREIGHT SHIPPING
Free freight shipping is available for most large items. Conditions and restrictions apply: Free delivery is only offered on orders in the continental US. Shipping for freight items is free up to $500. If freight shipping costs exceed $500, the buyer is responsible for covering any amount over $500. Free freight delivery services include: delivery to a freight terminal, curbside delivery, and door-to-door delivery with a private carrier. White glove delivery services are *not included* in our free freight shipping policy, but may be available for a fee. Buyers may be subject to fees in cases where a delivery location is remote/difficult to access, or where a shipment requires special handling. Please contact us for shipping quotes and available services prior to purchasing.
All shipments are considered FOB (Free on Board), meaning the buyer assumes all responsibility for the shipment the moment it leaves our loading dock. Any risk of loss or damage after this point is assumed solely by the buyer. In the event of damage or loss, we are happy to assist buyers in the claims process if we helped coordinate the shipment. However, we are not responsible for any damages, loss, or deductibles.
Delivery for freight items averages between 2-4 weeks. Longer delivery times are to be expected in cases where a delivery location is remote or when an order contains especially large or fragile items.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
All shipments going outside of the continental United States will require consultation prior to shipping. Items will be crated and shipped by boat or by air at the buyer's expense. Please contact us regarding any questions you may have.
