Antique "Torrid Zone" Furnace Lighted ROG Sign by Photoplating Co.

Early illuminated countertop advertising sign promoting Lennox "Torrid Zone Gas Tight Steel Furnaces." The reverse-painted glass face features red lettering, a blue geometric border, and a detailed monochrome illustration of the riveted-steel furnace above the guarantee "Guaranteed for Ten Years." The display is housed in a sloped black sheet-metal cabinet with a molded wooden face frame, rear ventilation holes, hinged access, and an internal light socket. Its angled presentation was intended for prominent placement on a furnace dealer's counter or showroom display.
The Photoplating Co. of Minneapolis, MN developed processes for transferring photographic and decorative imagery to durable advertising surfaces and produced illuminated commercial displays for national manufacturers. Lennox began manufacturing its riveted-steel Torrid Zone furnace in Marshalltown, IA in 1895, promoting its steel construction as more durable and resistant to smoke and gas leakage than conventional cast-iron furnaces.
Significant deterioration and flaking are present in the reverse-painted graphics, particularly along the left side and upper-right corner, with scattered paint loss throughout. The wooden frame and metal housing exhibit scratches, scuffs, finish loss, oxidation, and general surface wear. Metal housing is dented on the side near the latch, as shown. Scattered contrasting pigment has been added to the exterior through a paint-splatter treatment. The Photoplating Co. label has been damaged and repaired and is missing the initial "P." Sign works with an LED bulb only.

FREIGHT SHIPPING
Free freight shipping is available for most large items. Conditions and restrictions apply: Free delivery is only offered on orders in the continental US. Shipping for freight items is free up to $500. If freight shipping costs exceed $500, the buyer is responsible for covering any amount over $500. Free freight delivery services include: delivery to a freight terminal, curbside delivery, and door-to-door delivery with a private carrier. White glove delivery services are *not included* in our free freight shipping policy, but may be available for a fee. Buyers may be subject to fees in cases where a delivery location is remote/difficult to access, or where a shipment requires special handling. Please contact us for shipping quotes and available services prior to purchasing.
All shipments are considered FOB (Free on Board), meaning the buyer assumes all responsibility for the shipment the moment it leaves our loading dock. Any risk of loss or damage after this point is assumed solely by the buyer. In the event of damage or loss, we are happy to assist buyers in the claims process if we helped coordinate the shipment. However, we are not responsible for any damages, loss, or deductibles.
Delivery for freight items averages between 2-4 weeks. Longer delivery times are to be expected in cases where a delivery location is remote or when an order contains especially large or fragile items.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
