1927 Lincoln Shock Absorber Sales Manual
c. 1927; Lincoln Products Co. - Chicago, IL
Original softcover sales manual produced for Lincoln shock absorber salesmen, presenting a detailed and visually rich look into early automotive suspension technology and dealer-side marketing strategy. The booklet opens with product overviews of the "Lincoln Balloon" shock absorbers, emphasizing their adaptation for balloon tire-equipped cars, and includes illustrated cutaway diagrams showing internal mechanisms such as friction drums, control springs, and belt systems.
Interior pages feature period advertising layouts, pricing charts, and dealer-focused talking points designed to aid in field sales, alongside installation diagrams covering a wide range of contemporary vehicles including Ford, Hudson, Hupmobile, Maxwell, and others. The manual also includes a "Questions and Answers" section tailored to common customer objections and technical explanations, reinforcing its role as both a technical guide and persuasive sales tool. Typography, layout, and graphics reflect a transitional moment in industrial print design-clean, instructional, and purpose-built for the early automotive trade.
Shows light to moderate wear including edge toning, minor creasing, and handling wear consistent with age. Pages remain intact and legible with strong contrast in printed graphics.
