Vintage framed gospel festival announcement poster.
This piece served to notify the public of the Dorsey Gospel Festival (now known as the Chicago Gospel Music Festival) held in 1986. The Dorsey Gospel Choir is named for Thomas Dorsey (1899-1993), a prominent Black figure in Chicago and the gospel music community at large. In addition to gospel music, he is also known for his contributions to early blues as well. He spent his early years traveling with such famous performers as Ma Rainey and Tampa Red. However, after a religious reawakening and bouts of depression in 1928, he began producing strictly gospel music for the rest of his career. What followed was an intense 65-year spiritual journey to bring uptempo gospel music to the masses, with cameos from the likes of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Mahalia Jackson, and James Cleveland.

PARCEL SHIPPING
We ship smaller objects with UPS and USPS. All shipments are fully insured and adhere to carrier packing guidelines. Shipping costs for smaller items being shipped within the continental United States are free up to $100. If a parcel shipment exceeds $100, the remaining costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. Please reach out to us for a free shipping quote on items you are interested in purchasing and note that international shipments may incur additional shipping cost.
FREIGHT SHIPPING
We work with a number of freight carriers and private drivers, and are happy to assist buyers in finding suitable shipping arrangements for large items. Please reach out to us for quotes and more information about your shipping options.
Please note that buyers are responsible for the shipping costs of all items that are too large to ship parcel. Moreover, all shipments are considered FOB (Free on Board), meaning the responsibility for the shipment passes to the buyer the moment the shipment leaves our dock. Any risk of loss or damage after this point is assumed solely by the buyer. In the event of damage or loss, we are happy to assist buyers in the claims process if we helped coordinate the shipment. However, we are not responsible for any damages, loss, or deductibles.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
All shipments going outside of the continental United States will require consultation prior to shipping. Items will be crated and shipped by boat or by air at the buyer's expense. Please contact us regarding any questions you may have.
