Round tin advertising thermometer featuring bold mid-century typography and the slogan "The world agrees on Gilbey's, please." The central dial thermometer remains intact and functional, marked by the Cooper Co. of Connecticut-a prolific American manufacturer of promotional thermometers during the postwar era. The dial is accented by a red indicator and a temperature range from 20°F to 120°F. Background graphics in pale blue and cream showcase fine concentric linework and vintage branding for Gilbey's London Dry Gin, a globally recognized distiller with roots dating back to 1857.
The Cooper Company of Pequabuck, Connecticut, specialized in producing metal advertising thermometers and clocks for major brands from the 1930s through the 1960s, becoming one of the most recognizable names in mid-century point-of-sale advertising design.
Rust and patina visible throughout with mild surface discoloration and fading; thermometer appears operational.

We ship smaller objects with UPS and USPS. All shipments are fully insured and adhere to carrier packing guidelines. Shipping costs for smaller items being shipped within the continental United States are free up to $100. If a parcel shipment exceeds $100, the remaining costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. FREIGHT SHIPPING
Free freight shipping is available for most large items. Conditions and restrictions apply: Free delivery is only offered on orders in the continental US. Shipping for freight items is free up to $500. If freight shipping costs exceed $500, the buyer is responsible for covering any amount over $500. Free freight delivery services include: delivery to a freight terminal, curbside delivery, and door-to-door delivery with a private carrier. White glove delivery services are *not included* in our free freight shipping policy, but may be available for a fee. Buyers may be subject to fees in cases where a delivery location is remote/difficult to access, or where a shipment requires special handling. Please contact us for shipping quotes and available services prior to purchasing.
All shipments are considered FOB (Free on Board), meaning the buyer assumes all responsibility for the shipment the moment it leaves our loading dock. Any risk of loss or damage after this point is assumed solely by the buyer. In the event of damage or loss, we are happy to assist buyers in the claims process if we helped coordinate the shipment. However, we are not responsible for any damages, loss, or deductibles.
Delivery for freight items averages between 2-4 weeks. Longer delivery times are to be expected in cases where a delivery location is remote or when an order contains especially large or fragile items.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
All shipments going outside of the continental United States will require consultation prior to shipping. Items will be crated and shipped by boat or by air at the buyer's expense. Please contact us regarding any questions you may have.
