King Aerator Tin on Cardboard Sign
c. 1910s - 1920s; The American Art Works - Coshocton, OH for
King Ventilating Company - Owatonna, MN
Framed tin lithograph advertising sign for The King Aerator and King System of Ventilation, showing a bright yellow barn with detailed cutaway illustration. Slogans read: "The part above the roof makes good buildings better" and "The part inside the building makes good stock better." Cows and interior stalls are depicted beneath, while the upper roof features the company's patented ventilator system. Manufacturer credit appears at bottom: Planned and Manufactured by King Ventilating Company, Owatonna, Minnesota.
Designed for barns, hog houses, poultry houses, and creameries, the King Aerator system became a widely adopted agricultural innovation of the early 20th century, improving air circulation and reducing disease in livestock. vThis piece exhibits signs of wear due to age such as scuffs, scratches, and dents. The back of the piece has extensive rusting as the cardboard backing has been torn over time.
