Monumental French Henry II Renaissance Revival walnut hutch cabinet executed with exceptional architectural detail and deep relief carving throughout. The upper section centers on an arched door richly carved with a grotesque lion mask, grape clusters, scrolling foliage, ribbons, and an urn motif, all framed by turned and spiral columns beneath a dramatic broken pediment crowned by a carved crest. Flanking cabinet doors continue the decorative program with carved floral and fruit motifs set within raised panels. The lower case mirrors the upper section with paneled cupboard doors, turned supports, molded drawers, and a broad serving surface between the two sections.

The cabinet displays the hallmarks of the French Henry II Revival style, a late nineteenth-century reinterpretation of sixteenth-century French Renaissance furniture characterized by monumental proportions, architectural composition, richly carved ornament, and skilled cabinetmaking. Natural walnut grain is visible throughout, particularly across the large door panels where the figure of the wood complements the extensive hand-carved decoration. Original brass drawer pulls remain in place, and the multiple storage compartments provide substantial utility beneath the decorative exterior. The top and bottom sections separate for transport.

Shows minor wear consistent with age including scattered surface scratches, finish wear, and natural wood movement. Bottom center cabinet door has a broken hinge and the door must be removed to access the compartment. No key is present. Overall presents exceptionally well with strong carving detail and attractive color throughout.

We ship smaller objects with UPS and USPS. All shipments are fully insured and adhere to carrier packing guidelines. Shipping costs for smaller items being shipped within the continental United States are free up to $100. If a parcel shipment exceeds $100, the remaining costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. FREIGHT SHIPPING

Free freight shipping is available for most large items. Conditions and restrictions apply: Free delivery is only offered on orders in the continental US. Shipping for freight items is free up to $500. If freight shipping costs exceed $500, the buyer is responsible for covering any amount over $500. Free freight delivery services include: delivery to a freight terminal, curbside delivery, and door-to-door delivery with a private carrier. White glove delivery services are *not included* in our free freight shipping policy, but may be available for a fee. Buyers may be subject to fees in cases where a delivery location is remote/difficult to access, or where a shipment requires special handling. Please contact us for shipping quotes and available services prior to purchasing. 

All shipments are considered FOB (Free on Board), meaning the buyer assumes all responsibility for the shipment the moment it leaves our loading dock. Any risk of loss or damage after this point is assumed solely by the buyer. In the event of damage or loss, we are happy to assist buyers in the claims process if we helped coordinate the shipment. However, we are not responsible for any damages, loss, or deductibles. 

Delivery for freight items averages between 2-4 weeks. Longer delivery times are to be expected in cases where a delivery location is remote or when an order contains especially large or fragile items.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

All shipments going outside of the continental United States will require consultation prior to shipping. Items will be crated and shipped by boat or by air at the buyer's expense. Please contact us regarding any questions you may have.
