Circular carved hardwood tea table accompanied by four matching wedge-shaped stools that nest neatly beneath the tabletop. The table apron and stool skirts are richly carved in high relief with a continuous figural landscape scene, depicting mounted warriors, attendants, architecture, and foliage-an animated narrative rendered with remarkable depth and hand-cut detail. The tabletop features a deeply carved central panel framed by a raised circular rim, while the legs terminate in clawed feet, grounding the set visually and structurally. Designed for compact living and social tea service, the nesting configuration reflects both practicality and ceremonial intent, with each stool echoing the table's carving and finish.

Chinese nesting table sets of this type were produced primarily for export during the late Qing and Republican periods, appealing to Western buyers drawn to intricate carving and traditional motifs. They were often used as tea tables, game tables, or conversation pieces, valued as much for their craftsmanship as their function.

Overall good condition. The table shows minor edge wear and light surface marks consistent with age and use. The stools exhibit wear to the seat surfaces, including scuffing and finish thinning, but remain structurally sound. Carving throughout is crisp with no major losses observed.

PARCEL SHIPPING

We ship smaller objects with UPS and USPS. All shipments are fully insured and adhere to carrier packing guidelines. Shipping costs for smaller items being shipped within the continental United States are free up to $100. If a parcel shipment exceeds $100, the remaining costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. FREIGHT SHIPPING

Free freight shipping is available for most large items. Conditions and restrictions apply: Free delivery is only offered on orders in the continental US. Shipping for freight items is free up to $500. If freight shipping costs exceed $500, the buyer is responsible for covering any amount over $500. Free freight delivery services include: delivery to a freight terminal, curbside delivery, and door-to-door delivery with a private carrier. White glove delivery services are *not included* in our free freight shipping policy, but may be available for a fee. Buyers may be subject to fees in cases where a delivery location is remote/difficult to access, or where a shipment requires special handling. Please contact us for shipping quotes and available services prior to purchasing. 

All shipments are considered FOB (Free on Board), meaning the buyer assumes all responsibility for the shipment the moment it leaves our loading dock. Any risk of loss or damage after this point is assumed solely by the buyer. In the event of damage or loss, we are happy to assist buyers in the claims process if we helped coordinate the shipment. However, we are not responsible for any damages, loss, or deductibles. 

Delivery for freight items averages between 2-4 weeks. Longer delivery times are to be expected in cases where a delivery location is remote or when an order contains especially large or fragile items.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

All shipments going outside of the continental United States will require consultation prior to shipping. Items will be crated and shipped by boat or by air at the buyer's expense. Please contact us regarding any questions you may have.
