c. 1930s-1940s; Stewart-Warner Corp. - Chicago, IL

Double-sided painted metal dealership advertising sign promoting Stewart-Warner's South Wind automobile heater line. Each side features a vivid yellow background with black and red typography surrounding an illustration of the streamlined South Wind heater, above the text "AUTHORIZED SALES & SERVICE." The sign was intended for display by authorized automotive service stations and dealerships offering Stewart-Warner heating systems, retaining the desirable prewar automotive graphics and original form with mounting holes along the upper edge.

Founded in 1905, Stewart-Warner became one of America's premier automotive equipment manufacturers, producing gauges, heaters, radios, speedometers, and other accessories supplied to both aftermarket dealers and major automobile manufacturers. The South Wind gasoline-fired heater became one of the company's best-known cold-weather automotive products during the 1930s and 1940s.

Exhibits significant paint loss and oxidation concentrated along the upper edge on both sides, exposing the underlying metal. Both faces display scattered scratches, abrasions, staining, and areas of surface corrosion consistent with prolonged outdoor use. One side exhibits slightly greater paint loss than the other, though both retain strong color and legible graphics. Mounting holes remain intact.
