Expandable round dining table with matching set of seven chairs, designed by Hans Olsen as part of his celebrated Roundette series. The table features a circular top with integrated apron designed to conceal and accommodate the chairs when not in use, allowing them to nest cleanly beneath the tabletop. The warm-toned wood top displays pronounced grain and a softly rounded edge, paired with tapered legs that echo the light, functional elegance associated with Danish modern design. A maker's mark on the underside of the table surface reads Frem Røjle - Made in Denmark, confirming origin and production.

Hans Olsen's Roundette designs exemplify mid-century Danish furniture's emphasis on efficiency, craftsmanship, and adaptability. Introduced in the early 1950s, the Roundette suite was conceived for compact dining spaces, combining refined proportions with clever engineering. Frem Røjle, one of Denmark's respected mid-century manufacturers, worked closely with leading designers to produce furniture that balanced modern aesthetics with everyday practicality. Sets like this were intended to be lived with-used daily-while still reflecting the ideals of postwar Scandinavian modernism.

The table top appears to have been refinished at some point, with minor wear consistent with age and use. Chairs show light surface wear to the wood frames and expected wear to the black upholstered seats. Overall, the set presents well, with solid construction and consistent finish across all components.
