Salesman sample soda fountain constructed as a reduced-scale demonstrator, intended to showcase the layout, materials, and functional logic of a full-size commercial fountain. The piece features a long stainless work surface with integrated wells, drain openings, hinged access panels, and a full array of cast metal pull handles and knobs arranged across the backsplash. The base is clad in white marble panels with arched cutouts, paired with stained hardwood ends and a painted wood top rail, closely mirroring period soda fountain construction in miniature form.

Salesman samples like this were produced for traveling representatives to present to druggists and confectioners, allowing buyers to examine finishes, hardware, and workflow without the need for floor models. The attention to detail-from the lidded ice wells to the proportionally accurate taps-speaks to an era when soda fountains were architectural centerpieces and manufacturers competed heavily on fit, finish, and visual impact. These models functioned as both sales tools and aspirational objects, bridging industrial design and retail theater.

Shows age-related wear throughout. Several marble panels at the back exhibit cracking, and the fountain is missing some original components. A small number of screws are missing or mismatched, consistent with use as a demonstration piece rather than a complete operational unit.

PARCEL SHIPPING

We ship smaller objects with UPS and USPS. All shipments are fully insured and adhere to carrier packing guidelines. Shipping costs for smaller items being shipped within the continental United States are free up to $100. If a parcel shipment exceeds $100, the remaining costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. FREIGHT SHIPPING

Free freight shipping is available for most large items. Conditions and restrictions apply: Free delivery is only offered on orders in the continental US. Shipping for freight items is free up to $500. If freight shipping costs exceed $500, the buyer is responsible for covering any amount over $500. Free freight delivery services include: delivery to a freight terminal, curbside delivery, and door-to-door delivery with a private carrier. White glove delivery services are *not included* in our free freight shipping policy, but may be available for a fee. Buyers may be subject to fees in cases where a delivery location is remote/difficult to access, or where a shipment requires special handling. Please contact us for shipping quotes and available services prior to purchasing. 

All shipments are considered FOB (Free on Board), meaning the buyer assumes all responsibility for the shipment the moment it leaves our loading dock. Any risk of loss or damage after this point is assumed solely by the buyer. In the event of damage or loss, we are happy to assist buyers in the claims process if we helped coordinate the shipment. However, we are not responsible for any damages, loss, or deductibles. 

Delivery for freight items averages between 2-4 weeks. Longer delivery times are to be expected in cases where a delivery location is remote or when an order contains especially large or fragile items.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

All shipments going outside of the continental United States will require consultation prior to shipping. Items will be crated and shipped by boat or by air at the buyer's expense. Please contact us regarding any questions you may have.
