c. 1940s/1950s; Hamilton Sundstrand Corporation - Windsor Locks, CT

Single large aircraft propeller blade manufactured by Hamilton Sundstrand, identifiable by the faint etched company logo visible near the edge of the blade in the provided photograph. The blade is constructed in aerospace-grade metal with a pronounced airfoil profile and progressive twist from root to tip, consistent with turboprop propulsion rather than piston-driven applications. The heavy machined root section retains original stamped identification and certification markings (p/n 786147-1), indicating regulated aircraft manufacture and inspection history.

Hamilton Sundstrand propeller blades of this type were produced for use on military and civilian turboprop aircraft, where durability, efficiency, and precise aerodynamic shaping were critical. The scale, mass, and geometry suggest use on a medium to large turboprop platform, though no specific aircraft model has been identified. In its current state, the blade functions as a striking industrial artifact or sculptural display object, embodying mid-century aerospace engineering and materials science.

Hamilton Sundstrand Corporation, headquartered in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, was a major American aerospace manufacturer formed through the consolidation of Hamilton Standard and Sundstrand Aviation, supplying propeller systems, engine controls, and aircraft components to both military and commercial aviation sectors.

Wear from use is present across the blade surface, including scuffs, abrasion, and finish loss consistent with service life. No cracks, bends, or severe structural damage are observed. Sold as an industrial artifact/display piece only.
