1909; possibly Charles K. Fox Co. or Parnall & Sons, Ltd.

Antique oak seed and grain counter featuring six large rolltop storage compartments surmounted by a row of twelve glass-front sample drawers. Designed for use in feed stores, seed houses, and agricultural supply businesses, the cabinet allowed customers to inspect grain, seed, bean, and feed varieties through the glazed sample compartments before purchasing from the larger bulk storage bins below. Each sample drawer retains its viewing window and pull, while the substantial rolltop compartments open to reveal deep storage chambers extending nearly to the base of the cabinet. The cabinet's long, low profile and extensive storage capacity made it ideally suited for high-volume retail environments where bulk agricultural products were sold by weight or measure.

A faded tag on the reverse reportedly retains an illegible manufacturer name along with a construction date of 1909. Examples of this type are often associated with firms such as Charles K. Fox Co. and Parnall & Sons, both of which produced store fixtures and agricultural merchandising equipment during the early twentieth century. The included beans help illustrate how the sample drawers would have originally displayed available stock to customers.

Shows moderate wear consistent with age and commercial use including scratches, scuffs, edge wear, finish loss, and scattered chips throughout. Rolltop doors exhibit shrinkage and separation typical of age but do not appear structurally cracked. Top surface shows splits and age-related movement. Glass viewing panels remain intact with no observed cracks. Overall retains strong visual appeal and functional character.
