Striking hybrid display piece combining a low, painted storage cabinet with an integrated decorative screen above. The upper section features three framed panels: two textured translucent panels embedded with botanical leaf motifs, flanking a central gilt metal grille with a repeating geometric pattern. The contrast between the soft, organic leaf inclusions and the crisp, architectural brass-toned lattice gives the piece a layered, sculptural presence. The lower cabinet is finished in an off-white tone with horizontal ribbed detailing to the facade and raised on tapered brass legs, lending a light, mid-century profile despite its substantial scale. One side of the cabinet opens to reveal a series of open cubbies in varying sizes, suited for books, objects, or display wares-form clearly following function while still reading as a statement object.

Japanese decorative furniture workshops in the postwar era became known for blending traditional motifs and materials with modernist forms, producing export pieces that balanced craftsmanship, pattern, and bold visual impact for Western interiors.

Shows minor cosmetic wear consistent with age and use, including light surface marks and subtle finish wear, but remains in overall excellent condition with strong visual presence.

PARCEL SHIPPING

We ship smaller objects with UPS and USPS. All shipments are fully insured and adhere to carrier packing guidelines. Shipping costs for smaller items being shipped within the continental United States are free up to $100. If a parcel shipment exceeds $100, the remaining costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. Please reach out to us for a free shipping quote on items you are interested in purchasing and note that international shipments may incur additional shipping cost.

FREIGHT SHIPPING

Free freight shipping is available for most large items. Conditions and restrictions apply: Free delivery is only offered on orders in the continental US. Shipping for freight items is free up to $500. If freight shipping costs exceed $500, the buyer is responsible for covering any amount over $500. Free freight delivery services include: delivery to a freight terminal, curbside delivery, and door-to-door delivery with a private carrier. White glove delivery services are *not included* in our free freight shipping policy, but may be available for a fee. Buyers may be subject to fees in cases where a delivery location is remote/difficult to access, or where a shipment requires special handling. Please contact us for shipping quotes and available services prior to purchasing. 

All shipments are considered FOB (Free on Board), meaning the buyer assumes all responsibility for the shipment the moment it leaves our loading dock. Any risk of loss or damage after this point is assumed solely by the buyer. In the event of damage or loss, we are happy to assist buyers in the claims process if we helped coordinate the shipment. However, we are not responsible for any damages, loss, or deductibles. 

Delivery for freight items averages between 2-4 weeks. Longer delivery times are to be expected in cases where a delivery location is remote or when an order contains especially large or fragile items.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

All shipments going outside of the continental United States will require consultation prior to shipping. Items will be crated and shipped by boat or by air at the buyer's expense. Please contact us regarding any questions you may have.
