This late-19th-century brass gas fixture reflects the transitional engineering found in American interiors as gaslight began giving way to early gas-electric hybrids. The three-arm layout is built around a domed central shade framed by a tall yoke, originally meant to stabilize a chimney and burner assembly while dispersing heat. Two balanced outer arms carry spherical milk-glass globes, each held in place with period adjustment screws. The drawn brass tubing and cast fittings show the straightforward, functional workmanship of the era, with beaded trim around the central distribution sphere and mechanically sound joints throughout the drop pipe.

The fixture's stacked stem components-the ceiling cup, spacing collars, and the gas distribution ball-are all present, giving the piece its full vertical architecture. Its proportions, hardware, and surviving glass suggest use in a Victorian home, early commercial space, or work room where reliable, diffused light was required.

Surface wear and tarnish to the brass consistent with age. Milk glass free of cracks. Fixture's center socket seems to be in disrepair and does not work when tested. The two sockets on the sides work well. Included with the lamp are holders for glass chimneys for the side sockets but these are not attached to the fixture itself. The reason for this was not immediately apparent. Still, the fixture does come with chimneys for each socket.
