c. 1900s/1910s; Western Stoneware Co. - Monmouth, IL

Classic salt-glazed stoneware jug with a single handle and original cork stopper, decorated with a cobalt blue shoulder band and stamped "Blue Band Stoneware." The form is traditional, with a rounded shoulder tapering into a narrow spout. Its creamy glaze and bold blue marking stand out as part of one of the most recognizable American utilitarian stoneware lines.

The Blue Band line was produced by the Western Stoneware Company, established in 1906 through the consolidation of seven regional potteries in Illinois and Missouri. Known for sturdy, everyday kitchen and storage wares, Western's Blue Band pieces became iconic in households across the Midwest during the first half of the 20th century.

Condition shows light surface wear, faint glaze speckling, and minor age marks, but no major cracks or structural issues. A strong and attractive example of American stoneware tradition.
