Substantial dark-finished wooden courtroom armchair with a broad saddle-shaped plank seat, curved crest rail, and closely spaced vertical back slats. The continuous sweeping arms terminate in squared front supports, while the legs are joined by curved side stretchers and double rear stretchers for additional stability. Its restrained institutional design and sturdy construction would have been well suited to use by attorneys, jurors, court officials, or members of the public.

A heavily faded paper manufacturer's label remains attached beneath the seat, but its printed information is no longer legible. Early 20th-century courtroom furniture was commonly produced by American institutional-furniture manufacturers, which emphasized durable hardwood construction, supportive forms, and understated designs capable of withstanding intensive daily use.

Chair is in good, sturdy condition. It exhibits discoloration, scuffing, scratches, finish wear, edge wear, and gaping or separation at several joints, consistent with age and institutional use. There is a prominent dark stain on the seat and another on the front right leg. The seat displays extensive surface abrasion, scratches, finish loss, and additional scattered staining.

The curved crest rail and arms show pronounced edge wear, abrasions, small surface cracks, and separation at joined sections. A narrow crack is visible along the upper crest rail. The legs and stretchers exhibit additional scuffing, finish loss, and worn edges. One nail protrudes from the underside of the seat. The remaining paper label is torn, stained, and completely faded.
