c. 1920s-1930s

Freestanding steel dental or medical cabinet retaining an exceptionally characterful cream-painted surface with extensive chipping and dark exposed underlayers. The upper glazed cabinet has two hinged doors, glass side panels, and two removable glass shelves for organizing instruments, medicines, and clinical supplies. Below is an open work area with a removable glass surface, protective perimeter rails, and two articulated arms that swing outward for convenient chairside access.

One arm holds a removable rectangular porcelain enamel instrument tray, while the opposite arm supports a removable round aluminum tray. Both arms move easily and can be positioned beside the central work surface. The lower section provides a second removable glass surface above a spacious cabinet enclosed by a glazed door. Curved steel legs and casters allow the cabinet to be repositioned within a treatment room.

Overall good condition with obvious paint chipping throughout. The cream-painted surface exhibits extensive flaking, crackling, scratches, staining, oxidation, exposed dark underlayers, and areas of surface rust consistent with prolonged clinical use and age. The porcelain enamel tray has scattered edge chips and wear, while the aluminum tray shows scratches, discoloration, and use marks. The cabinet is sturdy and rolls on casters. Both tray arms swing out easily. Glass is in excellent condition and was likely replaced at some point.
