c. 1900s; H.J. Heinz Co. - Pittsburgh

Large circular, single-sided porcelain Heinz advertising sign.

This piece features the iconic Heniz 57 Varieties typeface with the iconic pickle logo. The pickle came into being when H.J. Heinz drew attention to his booth at the Chicago World's Fair by wearing a "pickle pin". (see photos)
It worked so well, it became the company trademark for decades and can still be found on select Heinz products.

Exhibits moderate signs of wear including enamel loss across the face of the sign.
