Antique mercantile display cabinet with glass top and sliding doors.

This piece was likely used to house and display cigars, ashtrays, tobacco, and other goods a tobacconist may sell. It features two levels of storage, with the top shelf comprised of slats and the bottom of solid wood; both areas feature separate sliding door openings on the back to allow for quick and easy access. Across the top is a removable pane of beveled tempered glass thicker than the windows on the cabinet so one may store items on this layer as well. Despite minimal ornamentation, this cabinet catches the eye and its sturdy construction ensures is a testament to early American craftsmanship.

Exhibits moderate signs of age-appropriate wear and use. Some scratches and scuffs are visible across most surfaces, but this piece still functions the way it was intended to.
