Handcrafted architectural folk art house model constructed from wood with hand-drawn architectural details throughout. The model depicts a two-story frame residence with a wraparound front porch, projecting bay window, rear addition, attached garage, and painted red chimney. Exterior siding, windows, doors, and roof shingles are rendered in black ink over a light-painted surface, giving the piece a charming hand-illustrated appearance. The porch floor is signed in black marker, "Wilbur Krause - Pearl City - McConnell, IL," identifying the apparent maker and location. While the exact purpose of the model is unknown, pieces of this type were often created as personal projects, commemorative representations of family homes, or demonstrations of woodworking and drafting ability. Research suggests Wilbur Krause lived in both Madison, Wisconsin, and the Pearl City/McConnell area of Stephenson County, Illinois. Beyond these records, little is presently known about the maker with the exception of the possible theft of six chickens in 1932.

The model exhibits moderate to heavy age-related wear consistent with age and handling. Scattered scratches, surface grime, discoloration, and finish wear are present throughout. The front corner of the base is delaminated with significant loss to the plywood veneer. Areas of filler or repair material are visible at roof intersections and around the projecting bay window. Minor chips, edge wear, and small separations are present at several roof edges and trim pieces. The porch post remains intact but exhibits wear at its attachment point. The inked decoration shows scattered fading and wear, and the painted surfaces display expected age-related abrasions. Overall, the model remains structurally sound.

We ship smaller objects with UPS and USPS. All shipments are fully insured and adhere to carrier packing guidelines. Shipping costs for smaller items being shipped within the continental United States are free up to $100. If a parcel shipment exceeds $100, the remaining costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. FREIGHT SHIPPING

Free freight shipping is available for most large items. Conditions and restrictions apply: Free delivery is only offered on orders in the continental US. Shipping for freight items is free up to $500. If freight shipping costs exceed $500, the buyer is responsible for covering any amount over $500. Free freight delivery services include: delivery to a freight terminal, curbside delivery, and door-to-door delivery with a private carrier. White glove delivery services are *not included* in our free freight shipping policy, but may be available for a fee. Buyers may be subject to fees in cases where a delivery location is remote/difficult to access, or where a shipment requires special handling. Please contact us for shipping quotes and available services prior to purchasing. 

All shipments are considered FOB (Free on Board), meaning the buyer assumes all responsibility for the shipment the moment it leaves our loading dock. Any risk of loss or damage after this point is assumed solely by the buyer. In the event of damage or loss, we are happy to assist buyers in the claims process if we helped coordinate the shipment. However, we are not responsible for any damages, loss, or deductibles. 

Delivery for freight items averages between 2-4 weeks. Longer delivery times are to be expected in cases where a delivery location is remote or when an order contains especially large or fragile items.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

All shipments going outside of the continental United States will require consultation prior to shipping. Items will be crated and shipped by boat or by air at the buyer's expense. Please contact us regarding any questions you may have.
