May 23, 1950; Standard Flashlight Co., Inc. - New York, NY

Large framed panoramic photograph documenting a formal dinner held in honor of General Lucius D. Clay at the University Club. The event was tendered by Carle C. Conway and Sidney J. Weinberg and depicts Clay among a large gathering of military, civic, and business figures seated around formal banquet tables. Photographed by Standard Flashlight Co., Inc., New York, and presented with wide matting in a dark wooden frame.

General Lucius D. Clay was a senior United States Army officer best known for administering occupied Germany following World War II and directing the Berlin Airlift of 1948-1949. He later served as President John F. Kennedy's personal representative in Berlin and accompanied Kennedy during his landmark June 1963 visit to West Berlin.

The photograph and matting are in good condition with slight age-related discoloration. The frame is sturdy and exhibits a distinct scratch at the upper-right corner, along with scattered edge wear across the left side, top, and corners. The glass has some scuffing. The reverse exhibits staining, including water stains. The original backing paper is missing, leaving the framing brad heads exposed.
