Sculptural copper torchiere floor lamp designed by Jim Bindman for Rainbow Lamp Company. Inspired by 17th-century floor candelabras and standing torches, the design reinterprets those historical forms through a restrained modernist vocabulary. Slender copper tubes rise from a stepped circular base to support a broad, dramatically flared copper reflector shade with a white-painted interior.
The shade contains a central ceramic socket with two horizontally opposed bulbs, directing light upward across the reflective bowl to create a warm, ambient glow. Its tall proportions, exposed tubular construction, copper surfaces, and simplified geometry give the lamp a striking architectural presence.
Rainbow Lamp Company produced sculptural modern and postmodern lighting during the late 20th century, with its torchiere designs appearing in period architectural-lighting publications by the late 1980s.
Shows mild to moderate wear consistent with age and use, including surface scratches, scuffs, oxidation, darkened areas, and naturally developed patina throughout the copper. More concentrated patina and areas of green verdigris are visible around the stepped base and tube connections. The reflector shade shows scattered marks, discoloration, and finish wear on both its copper exterior and white-painted interior. This item has been shop tested and works.

FREIGHT SHIPPING
Free freight shipping is available for most large items. Conditions and restrictions apply: Free delivery is only offered on orders in the continental US. Shipping for freight items is free up to $500. If freight shipping costs exceed $500, the buyer is responsible for covering any amount over $500. Free freight delivery services include: delivery to a freight terminal, curbside delivery, and door-to-door delivery with a private carrier. White glove delivery services are *not included* in our free freight shipping policy, but may be available for a fee. Buyers may be subject to fees in cases where a delivery location is remote/difficult to access, or where a shipment requires special handling. Please contact us for shipping quotes and available services prior to purchasing.
All shipments are considered FOB (Free on Board), meaning the buyer assumes all responsibility for the shipment the moment it leaves our loading dock. Any risk of loss or damage after this point is assumed solely by the buyer. In the event of damage or loss, we are happy to assist buyers in the claims process if we helped coordinate the shipment. However, we are not responsible for any damages, loss, or deductibles.
Delivery for freight items averages between 2-4 weeks. Longer delivery times are to be expected in cases where a delivery location is remote or when an order contains especially large or fragile items.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
