c. 1950s; Seederer-Kohlbusch, Inc. - Englewood, NJ

Vintage balance beam scale housed in oak and glass storage case.

This piece is one of any number manufactured by Seederer-Kohlbusch during its history. Their models ranged from (in 1950s dollars) $60 for school or student lab versions to $400 high-end versions for use in professional and scientific settings. This particular model was one towards the high-end as evidenced by the polished brass and storage drawers, indicting this was probably used in a mercantile setting, likely an apothecary. Includes original solid brass weights.

The last date of calibration is unknown and will likely be required if this piece is intended to be used.

37" W x 17" D x 36" H
