c. 1920s-1930s; Holland Furnace Company - Holland, MI, United States

Compact salesman's demonstrator set featuring a miniature Holland Furnace unit mounted within its original travel case alongside a framed instructional display sign. The scaled furnace model replicates full-size units with remarkable fidelity, including front access doors, venting ports, and labeled cast panels marked "HOLLAND" and model designation details. The unit is wired with an early electrical setup, likely used to simulate operation or illuminate internal components during sales presentations. The accompanying sign, housed in a red-painted frame, displays printed diagrams and operating instructions titled "Holland Furnace Co. - Instructions for Correct Operation," reinforcing its role as a teaching and marketing tool. The case itself is constructed of wood with a black leatherette exterior, metal corner protectors, and latches, showing heavy wear consistent with frequent transport by a traveling salesman. Together, the elements illustrate a hands-on approach to early heating system sales, where demonstration and education were key to securing residential customers.

Shows significant wear to the outer case including heavy loss and tearing to the leatherette covering, though structure remains intact. Furnace model shows light to moderate wear with oxidation and age. Instruction sign exhibits dents, discoloration, and surface wear. Electrical components are untested.
