Vintage Oak and Glass Craps Cocktail/Coffee Table by I. M. David
1960s -1980s; I. M. David Furniture Co. - Gardena, CA
Substantial casino-themed cocktail table combining a fully appointed craps layout with an ornate residential furniture form. The stained oak frame features a broad molded perimeter, recessed panels, serpentine apron molding, and six cabriole-style legs. Beneath the fitted beveled-glass top is a green gaming felt with a complete multicolored craps layout, diamond-patterned interior walls, integrated wooden chip racks, a dice holder, and recessed accessory storage. The glass converts the gaming surface into an expansive cocktail or coffee table while leaving the layout visible.
Includes 94 chips in each of four colors-white, red, green, and black-for a total of 376 chips, along with a croupier's rake, marker puck, wooden dice cup, and five vintage casino dice. One visible die is marked "Sahara Reno," although the dice have been described as Caesars Reno examples.
I. M. David Furniture Co. was founded in Gardena, California, by Irving Ginsburg in 1966 and became known for American-made casual dining furniture, bars, stools, and specialty game tables, including craps, poker, backgammon, and chess designs.
Exterior table is in excellent condition with only a few scuffs and small marks to the legs and lower body consistent with use. Beveled glass top fits securely and does not move within the frame. Glass exhibits numerous light surface scratches, as shown. Interior walls display scattered soiling and wear. Gaming felt is in good condition with all areas of play clearly marked and no notable loss to the lettering or printed layout. Both sides of the marker puck remain legible, with light wear from use. Croupier's rake, dice cup, and chips are in very good condition. Dice show wear, and at least one has significant edge chipping.
